Thanks Amy for that newsy paragraph. We had a great time with family and friends. However I am finding that retirement is certainly not retiring.I think people think I am bored and are trying to help me stay active. However I love the fact that I find plenty to do. Today I was up at 5:30...drove to my friend Curl Lawler's home. Had breakfast with my wonderful 88 year old friend, Donna Liebler, who drove all the way from Springfield Missouri to attend my retirement banquet. Took my car in to be repaired..stopped at the grocery store..scanned and emailed picutures to Marybeth Bradshaw, attended a High Jump Meet, went bowling with the church group at 6PM and got home at 9. I am almost too tired to go to bed. BUT IT IS GREAT!!! God is great!!! What a wonderful thing it is to know that Jesus is always with us. He never leaves us and He is faithful to direct our steps every day.
Sunday evening the church had a special evening celebrating my retirement. They did a skit....it was a "take off" of the TV series...American Idol. What a riot. Then we had a beautiful cake and punch reception in the fellowship hall.
My life has been so richly blessed with loving and caring brothers and sisters in Christ.
Will write more later.
